Interacting in Rosso de Luna

THE END HAS COME

As from twelve o'clock noon yesterday, children were to be seen howling and weeping in Rosso de Luna Camp. The end had sadly come. It's good to see the kids' tears as that is always a sign that they enjoyed themselves. And so did we, the staff at this camp. And it's satisfying to be able to quote their words.
"We will miss all the people in this camp. The monitors and teachers were excellent!! We will miss their classes because they teach us so many things that we didn't know. Thanks for all."
And I think that says everything. Goodbye. See you all next year.

The Interacting camp is very funny. The children are very funny and friendly. The monitors do funny games. The Hardy Family liked to go to Cáceres and it is very, very good.

On Tuesday we went to Cáceres in a public bus. We bought alot of things, for example clothes for the dance. Then we went to the swimming pool and another school. We had dinner in this school and it was a great day because we walked back to our camp.

The camp is fabulous! It's great! The friends, the monitors, the free time, the installations, the games. This is our song to describe the Interacting Camp.
The food is very bad
And it is very hot
But in Interacting Camp
You speak English alot.

We like the camp very much because we are making alot of friends. All the monitors and teachers are very funny.

I see someone was in before me, so I'm not going to repeat what they have said. I'll just tell you what we're going to today. It's sports day!. So I must dash off and do some training before assembly. Tomorrow we're all going home so I'm going to make the most of my last day here on the camp.

Today we got up at half past eight and we dressed and then we had breakfast. After that we had an assembly. We had to prepare a talent show. In the talent show there will be jugglers, footballers, actors, dancers, singers and musicians. The Muñoz Torrero camp is going to come here and they're going to participate in the show with us. When the talent show finishes they are going to go back to their camp. After that we have a shower and have dinner, and at twelve o'clock we're going to bed.

WHAT A DAY

I'm sure you know who I am. Yes it's me. The one who sneaks in and out of the computer room when I think there's nobody around. Yesterday I got caught leaving. So I've come even earlier today.

Just to let you know about the truly great experiences we had yesterday. The coordinator had a surprise lined up for us. It must have been because we've been on our best behaviour! An outing to the pool! So after assembly we all rushed back to our rooms to grab our swim suits and towels. We don't often get to the swimming pool, so I can tell you it was a real treat! But it just wasn't any swimming pool. It was a huge place in Caceres.

We had our first public bus ride and went into the centre of the city. What a pretty place. The square is really lively with its bars and restaurants. We did some walking around the historic centre before dashing off to do some shopping. Hey, isn't my English really improving! I learnt that expression yesterday - dashing off- I like it.

After we did our shopping we all met up in the square again and had lunch, took photos and then headed off to the other camp, Muñoz Torero. There all the teachers and monitors were very kind to us. They accompanied us to the pool where we stayed for a couple of hours before returning to the other camp. And can you guess what happened there? Well if you read my post from yesterday you probably do. The TV cameras were there and some of us began to sing for them. I loved it.

Then we had a football tournament against Ross de Luna. We played really well but lost only by two goals. Their players were much older than us and what's more there were more of them. So we did fantastic in my opinion.

Later in the evening we watched a theatre show. I laughed alot, and so did everybody else. Then it was dinner time and back to our camp.

On the way back we had even more fun, because the bus didn't come. I walked back with a teacher and our coordinator and some other kids, and can you believe it we got there before some of them who went by car. A very nice teacher, Reyes, from Muñoz Torres and Miriam who is the coordinator of all the camps were very kind and drove the ones who didn't walk back. I loved walking through Caceres in the dark with the full moon guiding us.

I think everyone is a bit tired this morning because I can't hear the usual sound of chat. I'm going to "dash off" and have breakfast.

I'VE SNEAKED IN AGAIN

Hey, do you see that photo? That's the strange co-ordinator who visited us on Sunday. Someone has stuck her picture in. I wonder if she ever got to "Camino Mordisco". I hope she got where she wanted to go anyway.

But I can't stop to think about her now. Sorry! We're all going into Caceres at last. The whole camp is really excited about it. We're going on a treasure hunt and then we're all going shopping. I bet we'll learn lots more vocabulary too. There's so much to learn and it's all so interesting. And then there's the culture part too.

The afternoon sounds fun. We're off to the other camp here in Caceres where the TV will be filming us. Hey, just a thought, we might all become famous TV stars after this. What with all those acting classes in English we're having, who knows! Then we're going to see a show. It really does sound great. I better sneak out of here before I'm caught.

A STRANGE VISITOR

I had that feeling yesterday that something new was going to happen. And it did! It happened during Assembly. Our co-ordinator wasn't there - she always is and Fabiola - a smashing teacher - was doing it when suddenly the door opened and this really strange woman came in. She said she was from "Camino Mordisco". Anyway, she said that she had to do assembly and she didn't half do it! She did really strange things and asked a few boys what their fathers' names were. She also taught us a song "If I had a hammer" and danced around the room. We all laughed and sang with her. Then she left for "Camino Mordisco". I wonder if she got there?

A STORMY DAY

Hey, I've sneaked in again. It's fun. I love doing this. I thought I'd tell you that it's really stormy here in Rosso de Luna. I mean weather wise of course. What's it like where all of you other lucky guys are who are on these fab camps? Keep me posted. I'm off to breakfast now and then I'm getting myself ready for all the surprises we have here. Thre's never a dull moment here. I wonder what's going to happen today? I'll let you know.

Above are some photos of our kids writing about what they did yesterday at the pool.

This is the result of their great effort:

"Yesterday we went to the natural swimming pool in Jaraíz de la Vera. The water was very very cold. There was a bridge, two showers, lots of stones and sand. We played volleyball, football and skips. We had lots of baths and swam in the icy water. At five o'clock we saw a lot of smoke. There was a fire. Helicopters with lots of water, put it out." -Ángela

"Hello, we are Rosa and Fátima. When we arrived to the natural swimming pool, we dived from the brigde into the water. Then an old man asked us if we wanted to ride a horse. Then we ate sandwiches and played cards with the monitors."

"Hello, we are Samuel and Rodrigo. Yesterday, the food for the picnic was very good. We ate sandwiches and fruit. The sandwiches were pork, cheese and ham. We drank juice and water. After that we bought sweets. Some ate pizza, but it was very bad. "

So as you can see they not only had lots of fun but they learned lots of English too!!!! Yoo hoo!!!!

Hi there. I'm the one who wrote yesterday. Don't say anything to anyone, but my teachers don't know I'm here on the computer. That's our secret! But I couldn't wait to tell you all about yesterday. First we had to play Sherlock Holmes, because a girl lost her purse and we all had to set about looking for it. We were lucky and we found it. We're all great Sherlock Holmeses. We were scared too. We thought we wouldn't go on that excursion. But we did. We had a really great time. The teachers played cards with us and they played skips too. It was great to see the teachers jump into to the water. Unfortunately, the football got lost so now we can't play football I guess. I reckon nothing can be perfect. Oh and the teachers took lots of photos too. Oh no, I hear a teacher coming I must get out of here.

Hi you unfortunate lot who can't be here in Roso De Luna in Caceres. Just to let you know that we are going to have lots more fun and learn even lots more English today. We're off to a fabulous place called Jaraiz de la Vera where there is a natural pool. Hey I must stop writing now as I'm off to catch the bus. Now don't get jealous!

Life is full of fun everyday here in our camp. I just feel sorry for the kids who cannot come to our camp here in Caceres. Ah well, not everyon can be as lucky as us! That's just my thought for you all. Bye, Bye.

HELLO! and welcome to the blog of ROSSO DE LUNA!!!

ROSSO DE LUNA is an awesome summer camp in Cáceres where we learn lots of English whilst playing games, theater activities, dancing, singing loads of great songs and but of course - playing football.

The students come from all over Extremadura and the staff from America, the UK, Ireland, Madrid and all over Spain.
